A key stage in pharmaceutical development

LFB's bioproduction is based on 4 key areas:

• Finalizing development and optimizing the pipeline
• Producing batches for phase I, II and III clinical trials
• Facilitating product registering
• Ensuring a sufficient quantity of biotechnological products in order to meet the market needs.

In the field of bioproduction through cell culture, the addition of MAbgène, LFB BIOMANUFACTURING from the 01/01/2012, in 2007 brought the LFB Group its own production capacity for monoclonal antibody development projects and commercial activity in the field of bioproduction.

Substantial investments have been made into the site, in order to ramp it up to industrial scale. The new production capacity is used to manufacture clinical batches and commercial batches of biomolecules.

External bioproduction collaborations

An Economic Interest Group (EIG) was created in April 2010 with Sanofi-Chimie.

This partnership now allows us to jointly offer a selection of commercial services for other companies known as Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO). Called "MAbLaunch", this offer is founded on the complementary industrial capacities of the two groups, the MAbgène SAS factory, LFB BIOMANUFACTURING from the 01/01/2012, in Alès and the SANOFI-CHIMIE SA factory in Vitry sur Seine.

In its capacity as a biopharmaceutical group, LFB can therefore rely on real assets, know-how, innovation and technological expertise in order to contribute to therapeutic progress and access to treatment.
