Intensive Care
What is treated in intensive care?
Intensive care saves lives every year, in emergency situations that may require the use of therapeutic proteins. LFB BIOMEDICAMENTS provides emergency services and intensive care practitioners with therapeutic solutions indicated primarily for the treatment of severe bleeding and thrombosis, or for maintaining circulating blood volume. Albumin, fibrinogen and antithrombin are used every day to handle emergencies.
Side by side with healthcare professionals
LFB BIOMEDICAMENTS has long been working alongside anaesthesiologists, intensive care and emergency care specialists, to provide training and information on some serious health problems such as hemorrhagic shock and septic shock.
In order to support health professionals in improving the management of patients with severe bleeding who are taking oral anticoagulant (anti-vitamin K), LFB has engaged in major initiatives to meet two objectives:
- Find out how severe bleeding in patients on oral anticoagulant is dealt with in practice in the emergency services,
- Concretely help healthcare professionals to write and implement operational procedures for the management of severe bleeding in patients on oral anticoagulant, taking into account the specific nature of their healthcare establishment, based on official HAS recommendations.
